Memorial Service

This past weekend we finally had a Memorial Service/Celebration of Life service for Grandpa. Now that all the babies are old enough to travel, and Matthew and Alli are back from Italy, all the Wilcoxson relatives gathered in Austin to pay a fitting tribute to Grandpa.

We had a really nice service out on the land, sang some wonderful songs, read some great bible verses and each shared something about Grandpa. Brian wrote another sweet poem, not sure if I'm gonna post it or not. Then we scattered his ashes along the 150 yard shooting range. I chose to put "my share" near the 100 yard marker where he used to hang a bowling pin for me to shoot the .223 hand cannon at. Brian always said he knew I was the one for him when he saw me nail that pin and watch it spin.

It was a really nice weekend. We had fajitas and margaritas and blackberry cobbler - some of Grandpa's favorite. And we shared all kinds of good stories about Grandpa. I know it's exactly how he would have wanted it.

Here's a photo of all of us gathered in Grandma's house.

Here's a video of Carter singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to Cole. He sings all the time now, I just have a hard time getting it on video. He is more interested in watching himself on the screen than performing for me :)
